The Catholic Church’s Confirmation program is a two-year program beginning in the 8th grade and covers the main components of our Catholic faith, including (but not limited to) Scripture, Holy Trinity, Church history, and prayer. This year will support the teens to deepen their relationship with God through engaging and relevant content for their faith journey.
During their 9th grade Confirmation "Year Two," in which teens are now considered Candidates, we focus on the Holy Spirit with comprehensive core preparation they need in order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. This second year also challenges them by offering opportunities for reflection, contemplation, and spiritual development and to witness Jesus through service in their faith and outside community.

Roots us more deeply in the divine filiation [being adopted as sons and daughters of God the Father] which makes us cry, “Abba! Father!”
Unites us more firmly to Jesus Christ.
Increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit in us.
Renders our bond with the Church [the Body of Christ] more perfect.
Gives us a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ, to confess the name of Christ boldly, and never to be ashamed of the Cross.
